In 1987, when the United States of America celebrated its 200th anniversary as an independent republic, Time Magazine published an article stating that, “of the 170 countries that exist today, more than 160 have written charters modelled directly or indirectly on the
U.S. version” (quoted in NYT, Feb 6, 2012). This meant that people around the world were enjoying unprecedented freedoms and unprecedented prosperity (the two things are related). All based on the success of one nation – The Republic of the United States of America. The Ancien Regime powers had tried to prevent this, but now they themselves were forced to make compromises with their own citizens, and they were forced to give up some of their powers and privileges. But this does not mean that the US Republic had defeated their enemies or that the Republic was safe and secure. The Ancien Regimes simply re-grouped and sought allies within the United States for a different kind of assault. They had failed to destroy the Republic from the outside, now they were going to destroy it from the inside. The allies, the Ancien Regimes converted to their cause, were the Oligarchs. (They are natural allies, they are both rich and powerful, and they both fear the people).
The founding fathers of the American Republic were great students of history. They knew that every republic in the past had ultimately failed and fallen. They also knew why they had failed and fallen. They failed because they all turned into oligarchies. For example, the Roman Republic lasted for hundreds of years but gradually the rich and powerful, ultimately took over. The institutions of the Republic still functioned, but in name only, in principle they were hollowed out, and exercised no real power. This process has already occurred in the Republic of the United States of America. Some are willing to openly admit it, such as ex-President Carter. Many know it instinctively, such as the recent ‘99% Movement’ (see below). Some know it practically, such as the prison population of the US (the largest per capita in the world). The prison population have experienced, ‘one rule for the rich, one rule for the poor.’ The rich rarely go to prison, the poor get long sentences, even for minor crimes. Academia know the US is ruled by an oligarchy because their studies have proven that in America the rich have all the power in the US government (see below for source).
The oligarchs have taken over, because they have done what they always do. They have used their wealth to corrupt society into a system that favours themselves. Simple arithmetic proves, that in America, the system is rigged in their favour. For example, the wealth of the 1% at the top is growing faster than the American economy as a whole (this was the case even before Covid-19). This means that, inevitably the 1% will claim more and more of the economic pie, while the 99% get less and less. So, how does the oligarchical class rule America? Answer: they rule America through the ‘Deep State.’
If one was to mention the ‘Deep State’ just four years ago, one would have been ridiculed and dismissed as a ‘conspiracy theorist.’ But now, everyone is talking about the Deep State. Even the members of the Deep State, are taking openly about it, themselves, e.g. “Thank God for the Deep State” (see above). So, what exactly is the Deep State? Answer: The Deep State is exactly that thing, that President Dwight Eisenhower warned the American people against, in his departure speech in 1961. He warned the people about the power of the ‘Military, Industrial Complex’ (the war machine that was created to fight WWII). Some say that Eisenhower, really wanted to call this monstrosity the ‘Military, Industrial, Congressional Complex’ – but his fellow politicians persuaded him to drop the reference to the Congress (the House of Representatives and the Senate). This amalgamation of military,
industrial and political power, over time has only grown stronger and stronger, and in due course has picked up large swaths of the American judicial system and the American law enforcement and intelligence agencies. It is what Donald Trump, has labelled ‘The Swamp’ – and when he said he was going to drain the swamp, he declared war on the Oligarchs and all their millions of minions in the Deep State. What we are witnessing in America at the moment is a war that began the moment Donald Trump was elected. In November there will be another election. This November will go down in history as a watershed moment for America and by extension the whole world. The stakes could not be higher.
